1. What are the sizes of My Mutebag?

The dimensions for My Mutebag for Trombone and Bass Trombone (blue, brown, and black) are 15 in x 7 in x 13 in (L x W x H) while My Mutebag for Trumpet (blue and brown) dimensions are 12 in x 5 in x 8 in (L x W x H). Black My Mutebag for Trumpet is 15 in x 7 in x 13 in (L x W x H). Since the bags are not made with a rigid material, they will stretch some to accommodate your needs.

2. What can I fit in My Mutebag for Trombone?

You can fit three standard tenor trombone mutes side by side. For example, a straight mute, cup mute, and Harmon mute will fit. You can also get creative and fit a straight mute, bucket mute with Harmon on top of it, and cup mute side by side. Plungers, Solotone, and other narrow or soft mutes can be put on top at your discretion. Since the inside dividers are adjustable and removable, experiment with your bag to see what combination works best for your needs.

As there are variations in mute sizes, we cannot guarantee that your mutes will fit exactly as pictured, so please refer to the dimensions of the bag before purchasing. 

Some possible variations include the following: 

For bass trombone, My Mutebag for Trombone will fit two mutes side by side such as a straight mute and cup mute or straight mute and Harmon mute. If you want to fit more, you may be able to fit another mute such as a Harmon mute upside down on top of the cup. Use your discretion to find the best configuration for your needs but keep in mind the dimensions of My Mutebag will not allow three bass trombone mutes side by side.

3. What can I fit in My Mutebag for Trumpet?

If using My Mutebag for Trumpet in blue or brown, you can fit three mutes side by side, such as cup, straight, and Harmon mutes. There is space to also fit a plunger on top of the other mutes or another small mute like a pixie mute.

Some possible variations include the following: 

  

Using the dividers included, Black My Mutebag for Trumpet will make two levels of three compartments on each level. You can easily fit 3 mutes across the bottom level and 4 more on the top level; it will fit more mutes if you do not use the dividers. Since the black bag is larger, you can also carry your device inside the bag's protective sleeve, music folders or books, and other accessories in the exterior pockets.

 

4. Can I fit a music or instrument stand in My Mutebag? What about music or method books?

Yes, if you want to fit music and carry a music stand or trombone stand clipped to your bag, choose the Black My Mutebag for Trumpet, Trombone, or Bass Trombone. Stands attach to the bottom of the bag using two clips, and the back of the bag's pocket fits large music and method books. 

    

 

To extend the life of your blue or brown My Mutebag and avoid unreasonable wear and tear, do not carry heavy items. It is intended to be used for mutes and lightweight accessories like music. 

As you can see in the picture below, My Mutebag for Trombone can easily accommodate music and method books in the front, outside pocket since it is 15 inches wide. My Mutebag for Trumpet with standard music fits as seen below. If you want to carry mutes and music, choose My Mutebag for Trombone. 

 

 

5. Will My Mutebag for Trumpet fit an iPad?

Yes, the interior dimensions will allow an iPad smaller than 12 in x 8 in but you will need to adjust the dividers to accommodate it. This will result in the dividers being detached on one side of the bag as pictured below (iPad is behind the mutes). The larger iPad Pro will not fit in the trumpet bag.

Choose Black My Mutebag for Trumpet if you want to carry your device in a protective sleeve inside the bag. It will fit laptops and tablets up to 15 in x 13 in. 

6. What if I need a bag that fits my bass trombone cup, straight, solo tone, Harmon, plunger, and 2 bucket mutes?

I recommend getting two My Mutebags- one in each color!  

7. Can I buy extra dividers?
